Though I worked with René only a year, he shared with me a lifetime's worth of patience, wisdom and laughter - and I feel now like I was only just getting to know him. He felt to me a kindred spirit and I saw many of my own traits and the values I aspire to reflected in his personality. Everywhere I traveled with René his smile and charm would win over everyone who didn't already know him by name and recognize him as a longtime friend. He was as candid, open and genuine as a man can be and everyone who spent time him him was better for it. He worked with a passion that was contagious and put himself fully into all of his endeavors. My wife and I had an opportunity to share a little time with Virginia and René and we count those days among our most valued memories.

Dear Virginia & Gabrielle,

Please accept my condolences on the passing of Rene. I liked him right away the first time we met. Our many conversations were wide-ranging and we talked about life and life experiences soon after our "business" discussion. He was kind, caring and generous and I'll always remember him fondly! May he rest in peace.

I am so sad to hear of Rene's passing. He was a great guy and everything you would want in a co-worker at Cooper. Always so full of life, always a smile, always a laugh and most of the time that laugh was on him...because of something silly and crazy that he did. We shared some great stories about Rene the other night. He will be missed.
